The City of Chicago recently played host to a momentous event in American history- the acceptance speech of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. To commemorate this landmark event in the city’s history, I am proposing that the City of Chicago revise the design of its official city flag by adding a fifth red star. The current design includes four red stars, each representative of a momentous event in the city’s history: the founding of the city at Fort Dearborn, the Great Chicago Fire, the Colombian Exposition, and the World’s Fair.
