If you happen to be one of the lucky souls who works in the Leo Burnett building in the heart of downtown Chicago, then you are more than welcome to cash in on my rediculous map fetish. Email me at ryan@starrm.com and I will send you a high-resolution PDF of a handy map which features every lunch option within a five block radius of 35 West Wacker Drive. Yes, there are indeed more places to grab lunch than Potbelly’s, McDonald’s and Cosi.

In Chicago, Marina City and environs provides an excellent opportunity for an unorthodox pub crawl. Within a single city block there are eight different bars. Give it a go after work some time.

I made this map for an event at Country Club Chicago, which is a gallery and ad shop in Chicago. The map includes some notes on nearby activities in the East Village.

There are countless places to get a burrito in Chicago, but the single best burrito is the chorizo burrito junior from Taco Burrito Palace #2 on Halsted.

Marina Towers is an architectural gem that rises above the Chicago River in the heart of downtown. I lived there for three years, but was bored of the pie-shaped living space after six months. And there were too many old people.

The City of Chicago recently played host to a momentous event in American history- the acceptance speech of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. To commemorate this landmark event in the city’s history, I am proposing that the City of Chicago revise the design of its official city flag by adding a fifth red star. The current design includes four red stars, each representative of a momentous event in the city’s history: the founding of the city at Fort Dearborn, the Great Chicago Fire, the Colombian Exposition, and the World’s Fair. Barack Obama’s historic Presidential election deserves equal recognition. If you agree, please join me in signing the petition below.
