I’d like to introduce my latest project, Book Band, which is an innovative publication which showcases a wide range of creative work. For each issue, I invite a new set of “Band Members” to contribute 10 pages of content on the topic of their choosing. Contributors can come from any background such as graphic designers, playwrights, poets, illustrators and cartographers. The artwork submitted by these individuals can take the form of stories, drawings, photographs, illustrations, maps, or any other form they can translate to the printed page. Each Band Member has complete creative freedom and is responsible for supplying their content exactly as they would like it to be published. They generate their own ideas, lay out their own content and submit a PDF of their finalized work. The submissions are not altered or edited in any way and I simply compile the collective efforts into a published form. Book Band No. 1 features the design, writing and photography of myself, Matt Bandsuch, Russ McClintock, Kevin Ripp and Lars Söderkvist. For more info, check out www.book-band.com.
